App no longer works since updated

Once opened it goes to black screen

App doesnt work anymore

This used to be an excellent app, but now it just crashes when I try to access search results.

Glory days are over

Used to be good. New UI is clunky and has less options. I miss the old app, not this ad filled piece of junk. Also, ads in paid version really hurts. Recipes are good :/

Recipe Box deleted when you update

Warning: Everything in your Recipe Box gets erased with this new Oct 2015 update. Workaround: Open the app and take screen grabs of your saved recipes before downloading the upgrade.

App crashes constantly

The current app crashes whenever I try to access any recipe. Bye bye, Epi!

WAS GREAT

Until the last update this wasy go to app in the kitchen. Since the last update I cant use it at all, instantly crashes every time. Please fix this app I have a lot of recipes in my box that I cant get to or share.

Works fine

It is not true that your recipe box gets deleted. I installed the update and everything works just fine. Only annoying thing is that the recipe cant be viewed by the folders that are available on the website (Starters, Mains, desserts, etc.).

Great app but some problems

Ive been using this app for many years now, and I really love the recipes and all the upgrades it has received. However, the "add to the shopping list" feature doesnt work and it hasnt work for me for at least a year. It used to work before. Its painful to need to write the ingredients we need to buy in a piece of paper, specially that we were able to add them automatically before. I agree with other users... Unfortunately, it crashes often. Still, a great app.

Constantly crashes - Do Not Use

Dont use this app! After a couple of months of trying to view recipes and the app crashing each time, I had to delete it. Until a version comes out thats stable, I wouldnt recommend downloading this app. Its that bad.

Obnoxious amount of e-mails and you cant unsubscribe without logging out

Despite numerous attempts to unsubscribe, including using the Unsubscribe link many times and sending 3 e-mails to Epicurious i still receive numerous e-mails on a daily basis. Seems the on,y way to unsubscribe is to log out of the app each time i want to use it and lose the recipes ive selected as favorites. At this point that is a more appealing option! I love the recipes, but being bombarded each day with a deluge of unwanted mail constitutes harassment!

Recipe box

How do I get my saved recipes back after being forced to join?

Finally Fixed

I slagged this app in a previous review. I was disappointed that it constantly crashed on my iphone 4, and found that it was the same on my new 5s in December. I just opened it today, and was able to reference my recipe box again. This app was broken for way too long - inexcusable, and I removed it because it was just taking up space on my phones - but Im glad its now back.

Dont bother - go to Food 52 or other app

They have screwed up the review count so that there are MULTIPLE reviews by the same person so it looks like there are for example, 575 reviews when there are only 6 or 7. Also the recipes arent updated often. I find Food52 to be a way better site for recipes.

I recommend this to all of my friends

Tastefully curated recipes. I cook with confidence thanks to this website/app. Seriously! Ive made countless recipes and theyve all turned out amazing. The app is easy to navigate, and I love the recipe box and shopping list tools. 10/10

A few more features and could be 5*

I love the website and am really thankful I can sync my recipe box. That said, a few features are still lacking: -ability to review recipes from iPad/iPhone -ability to add your own recipe notes to your recipe box as you can do online -better sorting and searching of recipe box -ability to sort recipes by date added -better shopping list for recipes! -menu recommendations (sides for mains etc) Once those are added, four stars. If you also came up with a way to easily import my own recipes it would be five stars.

Still Some Bugs

This version is much improved, considering all it would do is crash for a very long time. I just tried it again after almost a year hiatus because my Recipe Box wasn’t complete when I accessed it on my computer.. Problem 1: I was so glad to see that my recipe box was still intact on the iPhone app. My recipes don’t show up on Safari on my iMac though. Hope they don’t completely disappear. There have been dependability problems in the past... Problem 2: I selected a recipe and tried to create a shopping list. Nothing showed up in the list, even with 2 different recipes.

nice content, nasty interface

I like the Epicurious site and loved the idea of having the recipes--and the ability to generate shopping lists--on my iPhone. The app installed smoothly, but when I tried my first search, I ran up against a major snag: I cannot move beyond the first of the twelve hits. There are little red forward and backward arrows on screen below the introduction to the first recipe and the "View Recipe" button that should, I would assume, take me to the next or previous recipe. Poking at them with a finger or smaller blunt object, however, has not worked for me. I am stuck on the screen for the first recipe. Moreover, if I do click on "View Recipe," there is no obvious way to return to the original set of hits. The "Add to Favorites" and "Add to Shopping List" features do work nicely, though. I am looking forward to an improved version!

Interface does work

The only thing I will add to the previous review is that the pages are advanced by swiping, not tapping the small red arrows.

Measurements

Great collection of recipes. One major issue: Cant find a way to see standard (metric) measurements.

Multi Language

Pleace in German or Türkish Language ...
